Head Sink - Shiny Bowl?

Our O'Day 25 came with a kitchen sink but the sink in the head had been removed and replaced with a wooden storage box. This did not seem like a big deal until my wife and I spent our first overnighter out on the lake. Right away we noticed how much more convenient it would be if a sink actually existed there.

Upon returning from our trip I started looking for stainless steel sinks. A though hull fitting already existed as well as a water line for a tap so we just needed a sink. I was shocked to see a price tag of $300 to $400. So much for the sink idea!

One day while looking through the kitchen cupboards I noticed my wifes mixing bowls. Mixing bowls come in stainless steel. The bowl shape looks much like a sink. Hmm... mixing bowl is about $5. Drain fitting is $9, dishwasher fitting (1 1/2" to 5/8") is $2 and rubber hose and connectors was $6.

A little grinding with a Dremel tool and I soon had what looked like a sink. I found some wood in the garage with white laminate on it and started to cut out a hole. After some gluing into place, the plumbing was attached and we had a very cheap but functional sink. Not to mention... it looked great.

I ordered a tap pump from Thechandleryonline for $45 and installed it next to the sink. The installation was quite simple requiring me to simply drill a 1" hole. Now we have water on demand in both the kitchen and bathroom.
