Whoever coined the phrase "April showers bring May flowers" needs to do a rewrite! It's now May and there are still flurries in the forecast. The May long weekend also seems like a complete write off, calling for cold and wet. At least I have been able to work on the boat with the few nice days we have been graced with. So far I have adjusted the water tank plumbing so both the galley sink and head sink run through the water filter. I also encased the water tank in R5 blue styrofoam insulation in hopes of keeping the water cooler if ever we get a hot summer day. The icebox drain was also rerouted to the bilge and a nasty patch job in the cockpit was fixed by installing a cockpit shower where the patch job use to be. Some day I might get around to actually hooking it up so it works. My goal is to go for a sail on my birthday... which is next Friday.

Woke up to snow on the ground so not much boat work today. Filled the water and gas tanks in preparation of launching some time next week.

Another wet and rainy day but today is the day to launch "3 Monkeys" for the season!

We raised the mast this evening. It certainly goes smoothly when you have the help of an electric winch. With just my wife and myself, the mast went up without any problems.

Of course there is no wind this weekend but that gives me time to finish off the new electrical panel and install the new stereo I got for my birthday. There is also a new depth sounder coming that will integrate seamlessly into our new Raymarine GPS unit.
